About CorpusK12: AI-Driven Innovation for Smarter Schools.
CorpusK12 (CK12) was founded by Phil Kovacs, a former high school English teacher turned university professor turned entrepreneur. Long before AI became a buzzword in education, Phil was researching and advocating for technology that could help teachers and students focus on higher-order thinking skills and intelligent behavior—not just rote memorization and test-taking.
In 2012, he began writing on the intersection of technology and deep learning, and by 2014, he was on stage at TEDx discussing the role AI could play in transforming K-12 education. A full decade before AI began reshaping schools, he saw the potential for technology to free educators and administrators from burdensome administrative tasks, allowing them to return to their true mission—guiding and inspiring students.
At CorpusK12, every solution starts with a conversation. We work directly with school districts to understand their unique challenges, then build customized AI-enhanced tools designed to eliminate inefficiencies, reduce costs, and maximize impact. Through continuous refinement and collaboration, we ensure our solutions deliver real, measurable results.
With experience as a high school English teacher, a professor training future K-12 administrators at UAH, and a strategist for EdTech companies, Phil understands the complexity of school operations from every angle. He knows that technology alone isn’t enough—the real challenge is designing solutions that align with the needs, workflows, and constraints of district leaders. Just as data security and compliance are non-negotiable, so is creating AI-powered tools that truly work for the people who rely on them every day.
